Volunteer For a Charity In Essex

Be a part of our legacy

Volunteer with an Essex charity and help change the lives of children and families in the greatest need. At MCA Trust, we rely on people like you to keep doing the work we do, supporting children and families who need it the most. We are funded entirely by donations, sponsorship and fundraising, and it is our team of wonderful volunteers who help power all of our activities.

Whether you have the time to help at events, offer professional services or lend a hand with general tasks. Even if you are short on time, you can support us through regular donations or joining in with one of our fundraising campaigns.

When you volunteer for a charity in Essex like MCA Trust, you are supporting a great cause and joining a community that works together to make a real difference. Every hour you volunteer and every penny you donate allows us to continue providing vital support where it is needed most.

Five ways to support us

Attend an event

We run an eclectic mix of events throughout the year, so there’s always something to suit every taste and budget. From family fun days and community fundraisers to gala dinners and sporting challenges, our events bring people together while raising vital funds for our cause. Whether you’d like to come along as an individual, enjoy a day out with the family, or book corporate tickets for your team, you’ll be helping to make a real difference.

Leave a pledge in your will

Placing part of your legacy in our hands is a powerful way to ensure your support continues to change lives for years to come. By leaving a gift to The MCA Trust in your will, you are helping us provide lasting care and opportunities for children and young people across the region. Even a small gesture can create a meaningful legacy that lives on through our work and the families we support.

Emma’s story

Whilst going through treatment for Osteosarcoma, 15-year-old Emma began to lose her hair. A traumatising experience for any young person, Emma’s self-acceptance dropped to an all-time low.

Her cancer meant that she was out of school for months, with many of her peers moving on with their lives both academically and socially. Emma’s hair loss affected her mental health and physical recovery, eventually leading to her refusal to leave the house.

It was vital that Emma got her confidence back. The MCA Trust arranged for her to visit a wig specialist who could tailor-make a natural wig in her chosen style and colour.

Once Emma was used to her new wig, The MCA Trust partnered with local law firm, Adams Benedict Ltd, to offer her work experience at their offices. Not only did this get Emma out of the house on a weekly basis, but she gained back control of her mental health. Her self-esteem and social skills improved and she finally found her smile again.
