Football has always been an integral part of the MCA Trust, right from the very first day in 2011. With John Still, one of our earliest patrons, coming on board with us back in our earliest days, our profile in the footballing world has grown almost exponentially year on year.
Our events are a key part of being able to support children and families with cancer within Essex and surrounding areas. Football is not only an integral part of the MCA Trust, but it’s something even more important to some children we support. Football is what keeps children and their families together, the power of sport is unmatched.
Every year, we are lucky enough to be joined by some greats within the football world at our events. Guests ranging from former England legends Teddy Sheringham, Harry Redknapp and David James to current Premier League greats Chris Wilder and Rob Edwards – our ‘Hall of Fame’ grows year on year. It’s these partnerships with former and current legends that allow us to grant even more special wishes to the children we support.
The MCA Trust have partnered with both Spurs Wishes and the West Ham Foundation of recent, allowing us to offer premium and unforgettable experiences for the children we support.
Spurs Wishes have helped grant a wish of becoming a mascot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a Premier League fixture between Tottenham and Bournemouth, as well as offer premium box tickets for a separate game against Crystal Palace. The West Ham Foundation have also supported the MCA Trust through offering a family we support premium box tickets for a fixture against Arsenal in February of 2024.
A huge thanks to both West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as John Still and each member of our ‘Hall of Fame’ for helping build these Premier League partnerships.
